2012, Metabolism: Clinical and ExperimentalCitation Excerpt :This type of behavior has been demonstrated, though to just a limited extent. In one USA study [7], in middle aged men with moderately high cholesterol readings, copper supplementation raises activities for two copper enzymes, erythrocyte superoxide dismutase and plasma diamine oxidase. However, the rise only occurs in men with starting activities below a median split.
