The MPI is used in the evaluation of systolic and diastolic RV function. A single point MPI measurement has prognostic value for patients with pulmonary hypertension, and changes in the MPI are associated with the patient’s clinical status [17,18]. The MPI exhibits good repeatability, avoids the geometry hypothesis, and is free from limitations associated with RV morphology and tricuspid regurgitation.
